What is your role?

As a public procurement lawyer, you act as an intermediary and facilitator between the end client, internal clients, and various suppliers, while ensuring compliance with administrative and legal procedures related to public procurement.

Your responsibilities are as follows:

  • Provide specialized legal advice in the field of public procurement;
  • Ensure the procurement procedures comply with current regulations;
  • Draft and/or review market documents, contracts, and other legal documents related to public procurement;
  • Manage litigation related to public procurement, including the preparation of defense files;
  • Negotiate amicable settlements with the concerned stakeholders;
  • Ensure continuous legal monitoring of legislative and regulatory developments affecting public procurement;
  • Inform and train internal teams on regulatory changes and their implications;
  • Organize and lead training and awareness sessions on best practices in public procurement;
  • Develop educational materials suitable for different levels of understanding and expertise;
  • Support the operational teams in preparing market files and in managing contractual projects;
  • Maintain and develop the culture of public procurement within the organization to ensure compliance with the principles governing public purchasing, such as equality of treatment, competition, transparency, and proportionality.

Your experience

  • Minimum requirement: Master's degree in Law. Specialization in public procurement is an advantage;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal expert specialized in public procurement in the classic and/or special sectors;
  • Excellent legal writing skills;
  • Perfect command of French with a good knowledge of Dutch and/or English;
  • Proficiency in MS O365 applications;
  • Knowledge of eProcurement and 3P is an asset;
